What is the VENCLOSE™ RF Ablation System?

The VENCLOSE™ RF Ablation System is a minimally invasive device that uses radiofrequency (RF) technology to treat chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition that affects the blood flow in the veins of the legs.

How does the VENCLOSE™ RF Ablation System work?

The VENCLOSE™ RF Ablation System consists of a catheter and a generator. The catheter is inserted into the diseased vein through a small incision and delivers controlled heat to the vein wall, causing it to collapse and seal shut. The blood is then redirected to healthy veins, restoring normal circulation.

What are the benefits of the VENCLOSE™ RF Ablation System?

The VENCLOSE™ RF Ablation System offers several benefits for patients with CVI, such as:

  • Reduced postoperative pain and bruising compared to vein stripping or laser therapy.
  • Faster and simpler procedure with less in-vein time.
  • Improved quality of life and relief of symptoms such as swelling, aching, and ulcers.

What are the risks or complications of the VENCLOSE™ RF Ablation System?

The VENCLOSE™ RF Ablation System is generally safe and effective, but like any medical procedure, it may have some risks or complications, such as:

  • Infection, bleeding, or bruising at the incision site
  • Nerve damage or numbness in the treated area
  • Blood clots or deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Skin burns or discoloration
  • Recurrence of varicose veins or CVI
